Audemars Piguet introduced the Tradition of Excellence collection in 2000 to pay tribute to the craftsmanship of the original founders of Audemars Piguet, masters in the art of producing complicated timepieces. The five watches from the Tradition of Excellence collection are each limited to 20 examples and are now amongst the most respected and desirable Audemars Piguet watches of the modern era.

Tradition of Excellence No. 5, such as the present example, provides the brand with an opportunity to demonstrate its formidable capacity for innovation. Fitted with a 950 platinum oval shaped case, the outstanding timepiece features a linear reading perpetual calendar with a deadbeat seconds hand and power reserve indicator. The present lot comes with a full set and is in extremely well preserved condition. Together with the revolutionary new escapement developed by Audemars Piguet, this extraordinary watch is destined to be one of the most iconic pieces made by the renowned Swiss manufacturer.
