"This was the first painting we bought from Dalzell Hatfield of Los Angeles, a dealer who was known and respected by Alfred Barr. It is a tiny gouache which we have enjoyed ever since we acquired it in 1949. It is on a stand on a table beside the fireplace in the living room at Hudson Pines." —David Rockefeller
