TROTANOY
The winery is located in the Right Bank of Bordeaux in the appellation of Pomerol. Its 7.2 hectares produce 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. It is particularly known for its soil diversity consisting of gravel mixed with clay, black clay and the presence of iron pan in the subsoil, which creates much a rich and complex wine after bottling. During the 18th century the winemakers coined the name "too annoying" to the land because of the challenges the soil presented to the cultivation of the wines. Today, Château Trotanoy is sometimes compared to Pétrus because of the similar way in which the wine is made.
