The Comité Nadal has confirmed the authenticity of this work.

The paintings identified in Soutine chez l'amateur are three works by Chaïm Soutine: L'enfant de choeur (circa 1927-1928), Le Groom, (circa 1925) and Nature morte à la raie (circa 1924), and Edouard Vuillard's Autoportrait octagonal (circa 1890).
