MOVEMENT: Automatic, Cal.1570, 26 jewels
DIAL: Black, dot and baton numerals, luminous accents, Mercedes hands, sweep centre seconds, window for magnified date
CASE: Stainless steel, screw down back stamped 1680 and I 70, screw down crown, black calibrated rotating bezel, 40 mm. diam.
BRACELET/CLASP: Stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet stamped 9315 and end links stamped 280, dive extension link, overall length approx. 175 mm.

Introduced in late 1960s the reference 1680 was the first Submariner to feature a date indicator as well as the cyclops magnifier.
