专家说明

We are grateful to Denis Ton for proposing the attribution to Trevisani, and for suggesting a dating in the 1720s or 1730s (written communication, 13 September 2016). Dott. Ton compares the head of Isaac in the present work to the head of an angel in Trevisani's altarpiece with St. Rocco in the Museo Diocesano of Chiogga and the head of Abraham to that of the kneeling magus in Trevisani's Adoration of the Magi at the National Museum in Poznan (see D. Ton, 'Angelo Trevisani, fra maniera "vaga" e "naturale"', Arte Veneta, no. 67, 2010, figs. 2, 22). Dott. Ton also notes that another painting by Trevisani of the same subject was on the art market in Rome some years ago, but considers it somewhat earlier than the present work (D. Ton, op. cit., fig. 5).
