Léopold Flameng (FRENCH, 1831-1911)

Léopold Flameng was a French engraver, and best known in his lifetime for his etchings after noted artists including Eugène Delacroix and Ingres in the Gazette des Beaux-Arts. In the present lot, half in shade and half sunlit, he has expressed his abundance of creative skill depicting not only the wealth of objects laid in the foreground, but also the expressional faces of all of those involved in the auction.
