Fred Meijer of the RKD, The Hague, to whom we are grateful, has proposed a tentative attribution to Henricus van Weerts (active c. 1650-1699), on the basis of photographs. He points out, furthermore, that the central oyster and some of the foliage and an apricot occur almost identically, also in terms of execution, but shifted in place, in a signed painting in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford (inv. A 618).
