signed with a fly (lower right) signed again, inscribed and dated 'On Friday Mornings we went Shopping to Dawsons in/Oldham./George and I loved going to the Shop because they had/a wonderful Coffee roasting machine which we/always hoped would be working. We took the/Dogs, Gyp & Barney and Mother called for Grandma, The Aunts and Miss Carter (who wore Pink) while Mother/buys Butter and Grandma the Tea. The Aunts chat with/Miss Carter when she said, "Look, there's Bertie Hope Ainsworth/with his Mother and Sister". "He's evidently come back to/take over his Father's Mill". "I think he's rather handsome/and they must have pots of money". "Horah" said/Aunt Charlotte, "Nellie Hope Ainsworth's listening, and/she's sure to tell her Mother". "Then Bertie won't be/ allowed to even look at us" and The year was/1907./Helen Layfield Bradley 1969' (on the artist's label attached to the reverse)
