专家说明
Johann Christoph I Drentwett (1686-1763) became a master in 1718. He was the son of Philipp Jakob Drentwett III, and a member of one of the most prominent German families of goldsmiths. Based in Augsburg, the family’s work spanned over 200 years. Like much of their work, this pair of rococo ice-pails were almost certainly made for a wealthy member of a European court. The lightweight style of these coolers with their graceful flutes and muschelwerk side handles embody the Germanic characteristics of the Rococo.
