According the Archives of Breitling, the present watch was manufactured in 1969 and fitted with a Bueren 11 calibre.
Consigned in impressive new-old-stock condition, this wristwatch is without doubt a page in the history of watchmaking: Cal. 11, developed by Breitling in association with other manufacturers, is the first automatic chronograph movement ever produced. To incorporate into the movement a microrotor and the chronographic functions was a groundbreaking innovation, which however came at a price: the crown had to be moved to 9 o' clock. Being this calibre an automatic one - and with a dead angle of only 11 degrees - the modification was deemed acceptable by the manufacturer. The aesthetic appeal of the piece combined with the outstanding condition and the historical importance of the model make this wristwatch a nearly unique occasion for the true watch connoisseur.
