专家说明

Pan, the Greek god of woods, fields, flocks and herds and formed part of the retinue of Bacchus in Arcadia. In antiquity he was often depicted as a handsome youth, however, later depictions, particularly from the Baroque onwards he is generally depicted with coarse features and is used as an allegory of lust. The attribute with which he is most commonly depicted is the syrinx, or pan-pipes, which he is credited with inventing and which he is depicted holding in this highly stylised sculpture.
