专家说明

Mustard pots similar to those in this lot were found amongst the 'Hatcher' cargo, which was salvaged in 1983 and sold at Christie's Amsterdam on 14 March 1984, lots 104-5. Amongst the cargo were two pieces bearing the cyclical date for 1643. See David S. Howard, Choice of the Private Trader, London, 1994, no. 132, p. 129 for a discussion on mustard pots of this date, and T. Volker, Porcelain and the Dutch East India Company, Leiden, 1954, p.43 where it is reported that the VOC ordered 200 mustard pots in 1639.
