Attributed to William Daniell, R.A. (1769-1837)

'Neither Daniell visited Ceylon but Samuel Daniell [William's brother] did -- for several years and died there in 1811. Most of his watercolours and sketches were sent back to William in England who engraved many of them.' (M. Shellim, op. cit., p.34)
