专家说明
The arms are those of Onslow, probably for Thomas, 2nd Earl of Onslow (1754-1827).
These dinner plates, along with the twelve soup plates and cake basket included in the present sale (lots 126, 129), comprise part of a much larger service of which at least seventy-two dinner plates are known. Silver dinner plates from this service have sold Christie's, New York, 11 April 1995, lot 294; a set sold Christie's, New York, 17 October 1996, lot 261; Christie's, South Kensington, 22 February 2005, lot 339; Bonham's, New York, 24 September 2012, lot 5065.
All of the sets listed above are marked Paul Storr, London, 1812, except for the set sold at Christie's, South Kensington, which are marked WB, possibly for William Bennett, London, 1814.
