A PAIR OF ENGLISH STAINED AND LEADED GLASS WINDOW PANELS
拍品 132 The following four lots have been removed from Pyke House, Littleborough, Lancashire, the ancestral home of the Halliwell family and the Beswick Royds. Pyke house was demolished in 1960 but the window kept safe in storage. The glass is painted to honour the Pikemen who were stationed at the house during the Civil War fighting on behalf of Richard Halliwell a supporter of King Charles. The window panels show the family tree and Coats-of-Arms of the Halliwell and Royds against a backdrop of events relating to Civil War battles and patterned foliage.
