With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated 17 January 2005, spare 18K white gold back numbered 4'258'800, sales tag, 18K white gold and wooden setting pin. Also accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with opaline-white dial and white gold sword-shaped indexes in 2004 and its subsequent sale on 17 January 2005.

This reference 3970 is one of the last examples made of the celebrated model. Purchased originally at the Salon Patek Philippe in Geneva in 2005, it has never been offered in public before and is preserved in very good overall condition.

Reference 3970 was in production from 1986 until 2004 when it was replaced by reference 5970. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 305.
