A Dutch polychrome-painted and oak tilt-top table 'flap-aan-de-wand'

The 'flap-aan-de-wand' was an integral part of the Hindeloopen interior as early as the 17th Century. This three-legged table with a flap-top can be stored away against the wall in upright position, when not in use. The table top faces the wall, displaying the underside of the table, which is usually extensively decorated with acanthus scrolls and a central bibilical scene.
