Richebourg--Vintage 2001
Côte de Nuits, Domaine Leroy
Slightly damaged and scuffed label; US import strip label:damaged wax capsule
"The 01 Richebourg from Leroy shows a pronounced, very expressive character to the fruit with elegantly ripe raspberry character, a floral note and hints of sweet oak spice but also a bit of pepper and ginger on the nose, that gives way to a classically Burgundian, very funky earthy, gamey note. On the palate the wine is fine and elegant instead of really dense, yet the finish lingers incredibly all the same. Delicious! Dinner at Christies, December 2010"
