UNSIGNED ATTRIBUTED TO NAOE SUKETOSHI, Edo Period (19th century)
Sugata [configuration]: broad honzukuri, high shinogi, shallow curve, o-kissaki
Kitae [forging pattern]: ko-itame with jinie
Hamon [tempering pattern]: suguha with variations of nioi with ko-nie, ara-nie especially around the mono-uchi
Boshi [tip]: suguha with ko-maru
Nakago [tang]: kiri file marks in upper part, elsewhere indistinct due to corrosion, one mekugi-ana, kurijiri
Habaki [collar]: single solid silver
Horimono [carving]: a single koshibi on the katana omote centred on the shinogi, and futasujibi on the ura also centred on the shinogi
Nagasa [length of blade]: 71cm.
Koshirae [mounting]: in shirasaya

专家说明

Accompanied by a certificate of registration as a Hozon Token [sword worthy of preservation] no. 360909 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword] on 8th February 2003

The smith was one of the family starting with Sukemasa, who had studied under in Osaka under Ozaki Shigetaka and later under Suishinshi Masahide. Sukemasa had worked closely with Tokurin, under the direction of the sword-making Tokugawa daimyo Rekko. The son of Sukemasa, Suketomo, continued in the Mitto tradition, and the present sword is attributed to the work of his son, Suketoshi
