Sir William Orpen, R.H.A., R.A. (1878-1931)

With the depiction of the two children, Orpen seems to be making a veiled allusion to one of his Irish allegorical pictures Sowing New Seed (1913) (Mildura Arts Centre, Victoria, Australia), which contains a very similar grouping.
