Château Cheval-Blanc--Vintage 2000
Saint-Emilion, 1er grand cru classé (A). Château-bottled
In six-bottle original wooden case
"The Haut-Brion was fabulously nuanced on the nose, with notes of blackberry and fig, bramble, iodine, and leather. On the palate the wine was very finely textured, with plenty of grippy tannins and great length. The blend is 41 Merlot, 50 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 9 Cabernet Franc. Harvest was difficult due to the fact that the colure necessitated 3 passes through the Merlot in order to ensure an optimal ripeness.", CC, April 2009
