专家说明

Ralph Jentsch has confirmed the authenticity of this drawing.

Joseph Schenck, the subject of the present illustration for Ben Hecht's 1001 Afternoons in New York, was among the earliest Hollywood moguls, beginning with his movie chain partnership with Marcus Loew. He would later become the first president of United Artists, co-founded 20th Century Pictures (subsequently 20th Century Fox) and helped to establish the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, earning an honorary Oscar for his role in its creation in 1952.
