With the shaped marble and galleried top above a conforming case, the sliding top opening to a fitted frieze drawer with a later leather-lined writing slide and later silvered ink, sand and quill pots, above two further drawers, stamped MEWESEN and JME to left side of drawer, inlaid to reverse
30 in. (76 cm.) high, 18¾ in. (47.5 cm.) wide, 13¾ in. (33.5 cm.) deep

Another richly inlaid and mounted table-à-ecrire attributed to Mewesen, with the same unusual shaped top, was sold Christie's, London, 4 December 2008, lot 125 (£37,250).
