Samira Alikhanzadeh (Iranian, b.1967)

Using found photographs of women and children, Alikhanzadeh's work explores the passage of time, often conveying an impression of melancholy and the desire to enter the lives of others from the past. By adding shards of mirror the viewer becomes partially incorporated into the work as well, making them question their own identity.
