FIRST ENGLISH EDITION of this classic work by the great naturalist Baron Cuvier. Various sources and sale records cite different plate counts, making a definitive collation of this edition impossible. This is the most important translation of Cuvier's work, not only for incorporating his own discourse on avian anatomy, but also for the addition of many species not covered in previous editions.
