Joseon dynasty (late 19th-20th century)
Rectangular, set on a rectangular base with bracket feet and scalloped front apron, fitted with a large rectangular top drawer inlaid on the face with mother-of-pearl panels of birds and flowers and bamboo, two deep rectangular drawers inlaid on the faces with flower latticework and with a second large drawer inlaid with panels of felicitous paired phoenixes and bamboo, mandarin ducks and lotus and bamboo; the grounds of the drawer faces black, the exterior sides of the box black and the front of the plinth red, the interiors unpainted wood; fitted with flattened metal drawer pulls and corner brackets
