专家说明

Broadstairs, on the Isle of Thanet in East Kent and is here shown from the south. On top of the cliff stands Bleak House where Charles Dickens wrote David Copperfield (1850) and is also the subject of a number of watercolours by David Cox, Sen.

Brandard came to London in 1824 and studied engraving for a year under Edward Goodall, working on publications such as Turner's Picturesque Views in England and Wales. He occasionally exhibited at the Royal Academy and at the New Watercolour Society.
