One day the ruler told his sons to shoot an arrow and in whichever court the arrow fell, there they would find a wife. Unfortunately Ivan's arrow landed in a swamp where it was caught by a frog . Ivan's father insisted he marry the frog as that was evidently his destiny but after many trials and tribulations the frog turns into the beautiful Vassilissa and they live happily ever after.
