Jane Maria Bowkett (1837-1891)

Jane Maria Bowkett exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Suffolk Street Gallery and the British Institution between the years 1860 and 1885. She was married to the still life and landscape painter Charles Stuart. Her work drew on the later phases of the Pre-Raphaelites as well as the works of Shakespeare. She is best known for her paintings of figures and domestic subjects.
