ATTRIBUTED TO ABRAHAM PARSELL (C. 1792-1856)

While little is known about his life, Abraham Parsell is recognized as on of America's premier folk miniaturists. Although Parsell is listed in New York City directories between 1820-1856, few of his known sitters are actually New York residents, leading to the conclusion that he may have been itinerant.
