LIGNIER
This Morey St Denis Domaine has had a long and enviable reputation for producing fine wines that stand out, even in vintages that didn't initially promise much. Wines from this Domaine have a track record of concentration, depth and structure, and since the succession of Romain Lignier, Hubert's son, in 1991, the vast majority of wine produced from every appellation held by the family is now bottled at the estate. The estate consists of eight hectares from the villages of Morey, Gevrey and Chambolle, and the traditional practices Hubert followed over many decades are replicated from his son. The village wines will spend around 18 months in barrel, while the Premier and Grand Crus are aged in cask for up to two years.
