Self was drawn to the Art Deco interior of the Muswell Hill Odeon and the manager allowed him to sketch there when it was closed to the public. The four works in this lot depict the luxurious surfaces of the cinema curtains. Other works from the series feature solitary female figures in fur coats with the marble architecture in the background and the series culminates with the sculpture Cinema SI.
