Georg Klimt (the artist's brother), by descent from the artist.
The Swetzoff Gallery, Boston.
Acquired from the above by the parents of the present owner in November 1964, and thence by descent.

Dr Marian Bisanz-Prakken has confirmed the authenticity of this work.

Dr Marian Bisanz-Prakken kindly pointed out that this drawing is part of a series of preparatory drawings (Strobl 2483-2489) for the oil portrait of Amalie Zuckerkandl (Novotny-Dobai 105), dated 1917-1918, which was never completed.
