EARLY 19TH CENTURY, RE-USING EARLIER ELEMENTS
The dentilled and egg-and-dart moulded pediment centred by a cherub, above a conformingly-carved frieze supported by square panelled pilasters with grotesque trails headed by composite capitals terminating in armorial trophies, the apron centred by a rectangular panel inscribed AVE and with a coat of arms, flanked by acanthus-carved scrolls, with paper label inscribed A 242 and paper label inscribed 1234

This tabernacle frame with its architectural form is closely related to frames executed in Venice during the 16th Century.
