John Chamberlain (b. 1927)

In the early to mid 1960s John Chamberlain made a series of metalflake on formica paintings through the accumulation of multiple paint layers addressing the formal relationship between dual nine-square grids. Theseworks were titled after popular musicians and bands from the 1960s.
