De forme tubulaire, rehaussé en son milieu d'un triple anneau orné de minuscules volutes dorées, le reste du décor composé d'élégants rinceaux archaïsants dorés ou argentés, le tube interne postérieur ; usures
Longueur: 12,3 cm. (4 7/8 in.)

Acquis le 5 février 1900 auprès de Laurent Héliot, 62 rue de Clichy à Paris (300 Fr).
Répertorié dans le livre de compte de Charles Gillot le 5 février 1900. Collection Charles Gillot (1853-1903), sa vente, Me Paul Chevallier, Galeries de MM. Durand-Ruel, Paris, du 8 au 13 février 1904, lot 1020 (270 Fr hors frais), racheté par Madame Gillot.

Such tubular fittings would have been used to attach the support of the canopy to the carriage. It is unlikely that fittings of this sort would have been used for war chariots, but would have been status symbols used for leisure or burial.
The workmanship of this one is of very nice quality.
