A FINE APPLIQUÉD COVER

The variety of cottons in this cover appear to range from the late 18th century through to the 1840s, suggesting that the squares were made up and then assembled later; the quality of stitching suggests at least two seamstresses. Several of the chintzes retain their glaze.
