Attributed to Jacob Jordaens (Antwerp 1593-1678)

Cats were a favourite motif in Jacob Jordaens's oeuvre. A cat with similar markings was painted by Jordaens in, for example, his Satyr and Peasant of circa 1620, in the Staatliche Gemäldegalerie, Kassel.
