Studio of David Teniers II (Antwerp 1610-1690 Brussels)

Teniers was one of the most successful landscape and genre painters of his day, with a flourishing studio to meet the demand of commissions. His humourous paintings of monkeys were particularly popular as parodies of human society, notably the ribald activities of men, the antics of a guardroom at night being one such example.
