Rectangular with decoration in high relief, the backs fitted with suspension rings, the borders depicting torches, male torsos, military trophies, eagles, urns, classical helmeted warriors in profile, urns & foliage, the centres depicting respectively "The Surrender of Breda" after Diego Velázquez (1599-1660, painted before 1635) which took place in 1625 & "The Capitulation of Granada" after F.Padilla, depicting Boabdil, the Moorish king of Granada, surrendering his city to Ferdinand & Isabella in 1492, 27½ in. long (70 cm). (2)
