CRISTAL
Cristal was created in 1876 by Louis Roederer at the request of Tsar Alexander II. The Tsar insisted that the bottle be clear and had a flat bottom to prevent potential assassins hiding bombs in it, as they could with the traditional dark green bottle. The original wine was exceptionally sweet. These days the style is dry and is made from grapes sourced only from Roederer's finest 10 crus.
