专家说明

In this small, compact landscape, Rembrandt skilfully blended the techniques of etching and drypoint to produce a balanced tonal study in which the viewer's eye is asked to pick out the annecdotal details; the flock of sheep in the mid ground, the horse rolling in the field, the group of figures standing on the dyck to the left. It is a testament to his skill as a landscape artist that such a broad panorama is evoked so effectively within such a small pictorial space.
