Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with platinum bracelet in 1993 and its subsequent sale on 23 July 1993. It has never been offered in public before and is furthermore believed to be the only reference 3970/2 in platinum with integral bracelet to appear at auction to date.

The celebrated reference 3970 was in production from 1986 until 2004. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 305.
