专家说明

The sitters in this vivacious and spontaneous study have traditionally been identified as Mrs. Cumberland and child. Mrs. Richard Cumberland was born Elizabeth, the only daughter of George Ridge, Esq. of Kilmiston, Hants. She married her cousin, the dramatist Richard Cumberland on 19 February 1759, and died in 1801, survived by her husband and son.
