专家说明

After training in Amsterdam under Allert van Everdingen, Gerard van Edema traveled to London around 1670 where he found a market for his landscapes with awe-inspiring mountains, steep precipices, rocky gorges, torrential rivers and cascades overwhelming the diminutive presence of man. He found particular favor with English aristocratic collectors such as the Earl of Sunderland, the Duke of Schomberg, the Earl of Radnor and Lord Ranelagh.
