Autograph letter (unsigned) by an unidentified crew member of the Terra Nova to his wife, Victoria Land, 1913 (incompletely dated), recounting their voyage to McMurdo Sound, and GIVING NEWS OF THE LOSS OF THE SOUTHERN PARTY, 'The Party has had a most terrible time down here last Winter the Temperatures being so very low. Now my Darling I have some very sad news. On making Inquiries here we found that the Southern Party had not returned from the Pole, all 5 of them had died on their return. Captain Scott, being the last, he died of starvation', one page, 4to, on paper with vignette heading of B.A.E., Victoria Land stamp to upper margin, with postmark 18 January 1913.
