专家说明

Several cabinet-makers bearing surnames Ferguson and Christie are recorded in G. Beard & C. Gilbert (eds.), Dictionary of English Furniture Makers 1660-1840, Leeds, 1986, pp. 161 & 297. However, none are recorded in partnership. The same is also true of Edinburgh furniture-makers with the same names (F. Bamford, Dictionary of Edinburgh Furniture Makers 1660-1840, Leeds, 1983, pp. 54 & 63).
A daybed with related scrolled ends is in The Library at Erdigg and may have been introduced by Simon Yorke II (1771-1834) (Erdigg, 1988, p. 25).
