Balvenie was founded in 1886 by William Grant who had learned the distilling trade at Mortlach. It is one of the seven distilleries with a malting floor and uses locally grown barley for its production. The maturation warehouse, Warehouse 24 holds the range of fine and rare bottles which the Grant family produce.
