Specialist note

A prize for any seasoned collector. Carefully cherished throughout the years, the appeal of the present timepiece is enhanced by its freshness to the market - The hallmark on the left band is still visible, the one on the upper right lugs is very crisp.

The present lot represents an excellent opportunity for the collector of rare vintage Patek Philippe to obtain a fine example of this famous reference 533

Reference 533
Reference 533 was introduced into the market in 1937 and made until about 1957, it is distinguished by the elegant look of its Calatrava case with the typical flat bezel. It was predominantly made in pink and yellow gold. Unusually, more watches of reference 533 were made in pink rather than yellow gold suggesting that it may have been aimed at the South American and Southern European markets where pink gold was considered more desirable.
